Beef Burgers

No longer do you need to head to town for a great burger. Just grab a few simple ingredients in the grocery shop to whip these up. Build your own burger is a great option for a casual lunch or dinner when entertaining. Still great as leftovers too, reheated the next day.

Serves 6

Ingredients

Beef patty

500g beef mince

1 egg

1 tsp oregano

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp crushed garlic

Salt and pepper

Sides

1-2 onions sliced

2 rashers bacon

6 eggs

6 slices cheese

Lettuce

Sliced tomato

Sauce - BBQ, tomato, aioli or burger sauce

6 bread rolls

Method

1. Mix together all beef patty ingredients. Rest for 30 mins.

2. Heat frypan or BBQ to medium heat. Add a drizzle of olive oil. Divide meat mixture into 6, rolling each into a ball and flatten. Place in frypan and cook on both sides until browned. Rest meat until ready to serve.

3. Prepare sides: Fry sliced onion with a drizzle of oil and dash of water (1-2 tbsp) until caramelised. Cut bacon rashers into thirds, fry until browned. Fry eggs until just firm.

4. Construct burger: cut open roll and layer patty, sauce, onion, bacon, egg, cheese, salad.

Tractor Snacks Tips

To deliver to paddock wrap in baking paper and foil.

Additional sides can include grilled pineapple, sliced tinned beetroot, or any salad.

For delicious caramelised onion add beer or soft drink in place of water.
